The Data Quality & Governance Engineer is responsible for ensuring that data across our consumer data platform is accurate, consistent, documented, and trustworthy. This role focuses on building and maintaining frameworks and processes that uphold high data integrity — forming the foundation for all analytics, reporting, and activation use cases.

Key Responsibilities
  • Serve as the subject matter expert for our product analytics platform (Amplitude), ensuring accurate implementation, data integrity, and effective adoption across teams.
  • Collaborate with Product and Marketing teams to define KPIs and develop dashboards and reports that track user engagement, feature adoption, and campaign performance.
  • Implement and manage automated data quality testing and validation frameworks within ETL/ELT pipelines (e.g., dbt testsGreat Expectations).
  • Utilize strong SQL and GraphQL skills to analyze data and identify the root causes of issues.
  • Act as the primary owner of the data quality assurance framework, leading investigations, triaging issues, and driving resolutions.
  • Partner with source system owners and analysts to define, enforce, and monitor data standards across the organization.
Required Skills
  • 4+ years of experience in data quality, data governance, or data engineering.
  • Expert-level SQL skills for data profiling, analysis, and validation.
  • Strong understanding of ETL/ELT development and data modeling concepts.
  • Highly meticulous, detail-oriented, and passionate about maintaining data accuracy.
Desired Skills
  • Python programming for custom data quality checks and automation.
  • Experience with cloud data warehouses such as Snowflake.
  • Familiarity with data privacy regulations and compliance concepts.
  • Experience: 4 - 6 years
