We are seeking a skilled and motivated Lead Software Engineer to join our clients platform team. You will work on the foundations which shared nothing massively parallel database product, helping to improve product robustness, fault tolerance, scalability and provide a usable interface for administrators and automation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and maintain services and libraries using modern C++ and Python with Async IO.
- Build robust abstractions for process management, synchronization, and messaging across cluster nodes.
- Make critical technical decisions that impact the platform's architecture and functionality. Implementing significant software development initiatives or projects, at a high level of complexity.
- Continuously improve system performance, reliability, and scalability.
- Effectively delegate tasks, mentor junior engineers, and foster a culture of collaboration and knowledge sharing. Ensure timely completion of project milestones and deliverables.
- Collaborate closely with stakeholders across different departments to gather requirements and translate them into technical solutions. Collaborating across departments to ensure technical alignment with Agile methodologies and business goals Identifying and implementing innovative solutions.
- Actively participate in the resolution of critical customer issues, providing timely and effective solutions. Champion Agile engineering practices and Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD).
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field. Master is a plus.
- Minimum of 5 years of hands-on technical experience in software development.
- Strong proficiency in one or two of the following languages: C++, Python, with experience in Async IO or Go.
- Deep understanding of Linux systems is needed.
- Understanding of kernel interfaces is preferable.
- Demonstrated ability to write secure, maintainable, and high-quality code.
- Solid understanding of Agile engineering practices and principles.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and meticulous attention to detail.
- Expertise in specialized areas or technology domains.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Knowledge of distributed systems and cluster management.
- Familiarity with configuration management tools.
