Technology Procurement Manager - GIP

Position Purpose:

The Technology Procurement Manager is responsible for optimizing enterprise-level technology procurement and maximizing the value of IDP’s technology supplier relationships. This includes establishing and managing the technology procurement function, contracts, support, maintenance, and vendor performance management.

Key Responsibilities:

Engaging and Impactful Projects:


Category Management: Identify and deliver opportunities for effective Category Management with significant financial impact.

Collaborative Teams: Work with the Technology Management Office, Corporate Procurement, Legal, Project Teams, and Technology Support teams.

Communication: Improve and enhance understanding of Technology Procurement Processes across stakeholder groups.

Optimizing Risk: Work with Corporate Procurement, Legal, Risk, and Accounts Payable to manage Technology Vendor Risk.


Vendor and Contract Management:


Develop clear policies and processes to establish governance and measure vendor management performance.

Create documented objectives around IT vendor risk, relationships, contracts, and performance management.


Review and update IDP Technology procurement policies.


Foster a high-functioning team culture focused on customer-centricity, quality, trust, and competence.

Develop an accountability framework for vendor management.

Measure and report on vendor performance, including non-adherence to Technology Vendor Policies.


Stakeholder Engagement:

Build and enhance relationships with business stakeholders.

Establish a standardized approach for engaging with business partners.

Use data analytics to anticipate future vendor requirements.

Gain stakeholder support for vendor management policies and processes.


Technology Vendor and Contract Operations:


Vendor Segmentation: Categorize vendors based on business value, risk, complexity, and spend.

Contract Management: Work with Project Teams and IDP Legal to formalize agreements.

Performance Management: Monitor and measure vendor deliverables, address performance issues, and drive continuous improvement.

Risk Management: Identify, assess, and monitor vendor risks.

Change Management: Oversee vendor onboarding, transitions, and exits.

Optimize Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) for technology procurement.

Reduce cloud and per-employee technology costs.

Enhance business outcomes and spend efficacy.

Improve contract risk management.

Person Specification:

Background:


7-10 years of experience in a Technology Procurement function.

Experience in managing procurement needs for a Global Company’s internal Technology organization.

Expertise in Software/SaaS and Technology Services procurement.


Essential Requirements:


Dynamic Environment: Ability to handle a fast-paced, multi-stream work environment.

Team Leadership: Experience in establishing and leading a modern internal Technology Procurement team.

Procurement Operations: Strong understanding of technology procurement processes, contracts, and structures.

Communications Excellence: Strong stakeholder management and executive-level communication skills.

Sourcing and Contracts: Experience in procurement negotiation across multiple technology categories.


Desirable Requirements:


Experience with the Ariba tool (Sourcing, Contract Management, Buyer).

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business, Commerce, or Law
